B.1 Tokens and plans
B.1.1 Does a new project with Pro still need a project token?
Yes. Pro extends quantities and functions but includes no tokens; every new project uses a project token. See Ch. 3.
B.1.2 What does a simulation cost?
One simulation token, regardless of the number of areas and points and of the calculation time. Changes in the report, the pre-analysis and a worst-case combination cost no token. See Ch. 3.
B.1.3 Do unused tokens expire?
No. Project tokens stay in the account until a new project uses them; they are lost when the account is deleted. Simulation tokens stay with the project, even in the trash; they are lost only when the project is permanently deleted.
B.1.4 Is a token refunded if a simulation fails?
Yes, also after a crash on the server. If the user cancels a simulation, the token is not refunded; for a cancelled batch analysis, the tokens of the variants not yet started are refunded.
B.2 Projects and versions
B.2.1 Why can the project area not be changed?
It is set once and applies to all versions; among other things, it determines where PV areas may be located. If it is set incorrectly, a new project must be created. See Ch. 5.
B.2.2 Are changes saved automatically?
No, they are saved with "Save"; before leaving with unsaved changes, the app asks. Before a simulation starts, saving is automatic.
B.2.3 Why can a version not be edited?
Versions with a simulation result are read-only so that the planning state behind the report is preserved. "Duplicate" creates an editable copy. See Ch. 4.
B.2.4 Where are the results of a simulation?
At the read-only version "… · Sim-Backup …"; the report icon under "Versions & Results" opens the report.
B.2.5 Can a project be shared with other accounts?
No. The PDF and the Excel files can be passed on.
B.2.6 How long are deleted projects kept?
30 days in the trash, restorable; until then they use storage.
B.3 Simulation
B.3.1 Why can the simulation not be started?
Possible reasons: open items in the to-do list, no simulation tokens, storage full, plan limits exceeded, PV area outside the project area, or a simulation of the account already running (one per account at a time). See Ch. 12.
B.3.2 Does the window have to stay open during the simulation?
No. The simulation continues on the server; when the editor is opened again in the same browser, the display reappears.
B.3.3 What is the difference between pre-analysis and simulation?
The pre-analysis shows, without a token and without a report, in which directions an area reflects. The simulation calculates minute by minute for a year whether and how brightly reflections are visible at each observation point. See Ch. 11.
B.3.4 Why does an observation point show no reflection although one is expected?
The reflection does not hit the point geometrically (Ch. V.3), an obstacle or the terrain hides it (Ch. V.4), the sun is behind the horizon of the far-field shading (Ch. 10.2), it lies outside the field of view (Ch. V.6), or a filter in the report removes it (Ch. V.8).
B.3.5 Why are the times in the report shifted by one hour?
Simulation and report calculate in the standard time of the set time zone. During daylight saving time, local clock time is one hour later. See standard time.
B.4 Report and export
B.4.1 Are filters and adjustments carried over to PDF and Excel?
Yes. They are saved with the report and carried over to the PDF and the Excel export. See Ch. 14.
B.4.2 How long are results kept?
Currently no time limit applies; a time limit remains reserved and will be announced in advance. Results are removed when the version with the result, the project or the account is permanently deleted; a project in the trash is permanently deleted after 30 days (Ch. 4). For own records, the PDF and the Excel file are downloaded and backed up.
B.4.3 Which guidelines can be used for the evaluation?
Key figures and filters cover, among others, LAI, OVE R 11-3, EnergieSchweiz/Swissolar, the Eckpunktepapier of the Federal Highway Authority (Fernstraßen-Bundesamt), RVS 05.06.11, FAA and EASA. See Ch. VI.1 to Ch. VI.4.
B.5 Account
B.5.1 How is the e-mail address changed?
Via support; the profile only displays it.
B.5.2 How is the password changed or reset?
"Change password" under "Settings", with the current password. Forgotten: "Forgot?" on the login page sends a link that is valid for one hour. At least 8 characters.
B.5.3 Login fails. What should be checked?
The spelling of the e-mail address and whether it is confirmed; without confirmation, login is not possible, and the login page then offers "Resend verification email" (link valid for 24 hours, check the spam folder if needed). Then reset the password via "Forgot?" or write to info@pv-glarecheck.com.
B.5.4 How is the account deleted?
Under "Settings" with "Delete account permanently" and the password. A Pro subscription that still renews must be canceled first. The remaining term and tokens are forfeited without refund; this is confirmed with a checkbox. See Ch. 3.
B.5.5 In which languages is the app available?
German and English, switchable in the page header; the language also applies to e-mails from the app.
